Easy Homemade Wine

Disclosure: I do have some affiliate links on my website, they are to help support my site. I make a small percentage when you make a purchase through my links.

This is my cheap and easy wine. Basically in 45 seconds you will have wine fermenting, its cheap, delicious, and you can make it into any flavor. I can say that I can turn water into wine. Just keep in mind if you make water wine, use distilled water, you don’t want bacteria in your wine, you will get sick.

Supplies

Your bottle of wine will cost about $3.00, one of my favorite juices to use is a peach tea that you can find at Dollar Tree. The wine yeast is very affordable and one packet can make 5 bottles.

Mix yeast into the sugar

Make Cheap and Easy Wine

Easy Homemade Wine

  • 1.5 cups of sugar (if doing distilled water, add 2 cups of sugar instead of 1.5 cups)
  • 1/2 TSP of yeast (I recommend wine yeast, it will make your wine much stronger)
  • 64 oz Bottle of 100% juice or juice concentrate, or a gallon of distilled water.
  • Brown paper bag

Grab a 2 cup measuring cup and empty 2 cups out of the bottle of juice, drink it.  Then add the sugar and yeast and then shake for about 45 seconds.  Now here comes the most important part, after you shake the bottle unscrew the cap enough so that when you lightly squeeze the bottle the cap flutters a little bit. My husband learned what happens when you keep the cap tight on the bottle, just ask the huge dent in my ceiling.  The bottles need to be in a warm and dark spot, I recommend placing the bottles on top of your fridge and cover them with the brown paper bags.  Finally, all it takes about 21 days to be finished, it will be done when there is no more bubbles in the juice.

Starter Kit

This is a really good starter kit to make wine, it ends up making you 4 gallons of fruit wine includes the wine yeast as well. There is some really good flavors.

Warning

If you have children, please remember to label the bottle and put the bottle somewhere they can’t reach. It can be confusing for a young kid because it looks like juice. So please remember to label the bottles and put them up high. Also don’t forget to put the date on the bottle, that way you know to watch for 21 days.

Please label the bottles

Final Step

When the bubbles are gone you can tighten the cap and store your wine. So if you leave the cover loose your or your wine will turn to vinegar. Yuck. It will be around 15% alcohol content.

Recommended Yeast

This is the yeast I recommend, it will make your wine a much higher alcohol content then just using regular yeast. When you use wine makers yeast it makes your wine between 14-16%! Regular yeast just makes it 5% alcohol. So follow the link to get your own wine makers yeast. https://ebay.to/2PR52hH

If you want to be able to test the alcohol content in your wine, this is what I use.

Make your friends jealous of you delicious and inexpensive wine. Tip: add some frozen fruits to your wine to add extra flavor and have a treat when your finished your glass!

IM very interested but slightly confused too! Your recipe says 100% juice but you show photos of concentrate, fruit drink, and you mention a fruit flavored tea.
Does this recipe work well with the concentrate, drinks and/or fruited teas?

Most yeast does not do well without 100% fruit juice

I did use your link to EBay for the wine yeast packets – thanks!

I had accidently bought a lite cranberry juice, so I decided to experiemnt and it was really good. As long as the yeast can feed off the sugar you will have wine! you can turn distilled water into wine.

Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
